SIR ARTHUR DIMWORTHY

TOPICS

THE DIMWORTHY DYNASTY

Inquiring minds around the globe have pondered the question: “Who, or what, went swimming in  the Dimworthy gene pool to produce such an individual?” And more to the point, “Why weren’t they stopped?” You will not be shocked to discover that Sir Arthur’s family tree has many cracked branches. Two notable members on the Dimworthy family tree are Archibald Dimworthy III and William “Lucky” Dimworthy. It was Archibald Dimworthy who, in 1543, was blamed for starting the Great Fire of Locksbottom while doing research for his never-to-be-illuminated manuscript: “Medieval Bar-B-Queing: A Serf’s Guide”. And in 1762, William “Lucky” Dimworthy, 13th Earl of Oxford was beheaded… accidentally… due to an unfortunate incident at an execution over which he was presiding.

I’m afraid we could go on and on, but time and space do not allow us to even mention Lady Dimworthy of Lint-On-Rye and the petticoat incident, Archbishop Charles Dimworthy and the regrettable baptismal font incident, the Dimworthy twins of Twickenham and the super-glue  incident, and so many, many more…
