EDMOND OTIS
MARTIAL ARTS STRATIGIES FOR PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS
Traditional martial arts offer a proven template for thriving in a world where we must know how to face adversity, beat the odds, and take on the big-guys—if we expect to be competitive. A world where we must be smart, strong, quick, motivated and balanced – if we expect to be successful. Today’s world.
Edmond Otis is a modern karate master. He combines 35 years of intense traditional martial arts training with his experience as a psychotherapist, life-coach, business consultant and educator to create presentations that are exciting, motivating and relevant to every aspect of our personal and professional lives.
Edmond is a dynamic speaker with a powerful message. He uses his unique martial art perspective to arm audiences as they take on modern life’s most critical challenges. He inspires them to discover untapped strengths and deep personal reserves. He teaches them to develop a strategic mind; and the poise, self-discipline, confidence and DARING we all need to achieve real and lasting success in today’s world.
“If you, or your people, spend a lot of time walking through dark alleys, you’ll need one form of martial art skill – the form I teach in a dojo. However, if you spend most your time in business meetings and sales conferences; negotiating with customers, co-workers or competitors (where the risks are often just as great); or if you’re looking to raise performance levels and recharge your spirit; you’ll need those same skills in a different form—the form I teach as a speaker and coach.”
Edmond Otis enjoys international recognition as a karate competitor, coach and judge, and is widely acclaimed as one of the premier karate instructors of his generation. His gift, however, is the ability to fuse a lifetime of intense personal training with his clinical, corporate, and academic credentials, masterfully integrating classic martial arts aprinciples into the broader context of modern life.
Edmond has gained national attention helping clients find success by applying martial art strategies to life’s most difficult personal and professional challenges. Edmond began practicing traditional karate in 1967, at the age of 12, and has trained consistently since that time. Throughout his 20s, he competed successfully at the national and international level, winning three national individual and team titles. In his 30s, Edmond devoted himself to teaching and coaching students of his own—several of whom now hold high ranks and have won national, international, and world titles.
During this same period, he completed graduate studies in psychology and counseling with the goal of translating key martial arts principles and lessons into the broader context of daily life—something he does on a daily basis with entrepreneurial, corporate and organizational clients; and as a Distinguished Lecturer at the University of California, Riverside.
